After a week's hiatus, we are back with a bang. It's officially fall, and we feel like we're back to school with freshly sharpened pencils and new Trapper Keepers all around. A lot has happened over the past couple of weeks, including the announcements of the first ever HODINKEE Magazine (woohoo!), the new 100th Anniversary Cartier Tank releases, and the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève finalists. For Episode 16, we asked you what three replica watches you would purchase for under $15,000. This week we want to play a similar game inspired by the GPHG awards ?we're calling it the Grand Prix d'HODINKEE.

The annual award ceremony is hosted by a non-profit organization ?The Foundation of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève ?and recognizes the best of modern watchmaking. Brands must submit replica watches for consideration and while not every brand or group participates (notable exceptions are Replica Rolex and Patek Philippe, among others), the GPHG prizes remain the most comprehensive and important awards in the fake watch industry. However, the jury selections are necessarily somewhat limited, as brand submission is a prerequisite for consideration.

The three GPHG prize categories we've chosen are: "Petite Aiguille" (a category for best fake watch that costs less than CHF 8,000, or $8,392); "Mechanical Exception" (watches with automatons, chiming complications, innovative display, or other unusual mechanical feature) and "Aiguille d'Or," which is best fake watch overall ?basically, your fake watch Of The Year.
